This album has been in my “To Buy” list for well over a year now. I just got around to it and now I’m kicking myself that I haven’t been rocking out to these guys for all this time. I’m not quite sure how to explain it, other than it’s an electronic infused dance music. The neat thing about some of the songs is that they remix popular songs into their catchy beats and lyrics.
Google’s Tribute to the 117th birthday of Martha Graham is an animated logo of the dance icon.
Does anyone else find this poster wrong? I’m not anti-feminist but I don’t think this poster’s message is pro-feminist either.
1. Let’s not delude ourselves from the main reason Planned Parenthood exist is for abortions.
2. 3/4 of the women in the illustration look to be of minority status.
3. This is rather insulting considering that majority of unplanned pregnancies and people who attract STD’s are women of minority status.
So this poster is in my eyes is pretty racist. I’m not getting into a Pro-Choice/Pro-Life debate, but more of what are we teaching our children. That’s it’s ok to have unsafe sex because you can get an abortion? Completely missing the point that STD’s are on a rise. This kind of messaging doesn’t promote Healthy, Independent Women who choose to be Sexually Active. It promotes unsafe, and dangerous activity for all parties involved. Because let’s face it if you catch a STD you will no longer be healthy or independent. Can we stop ignoring the elephant in the room around this issue?
If you choose to be sexually active then be smart about it.

Apparently I might be suffering from the Hangover because I do not remember being in Las Vegas… with my phone. Oh if I was getting married I would be in so much trouble.
If you’re curious about that map then I suggest reading this site. The iphone keeps a log of every place you’ve been. It’s is eerily accurate and makes one wonder why would apple be collecting this data? The info is easily accessible through a file on your computer that is updated every time you sync your phone. The file using triangulation instead of GPS. This method supposedly using cell towers to figure out your location. Not as accurate as GPS but it gets pretty close to places you’ve traveled.
Cue 1984.
Thus, each project pays, on average, $293
Each project receives, on average, 94 submissions.
So, the average return by design submitted, is $3.11
If you submit work to 99designs, you’re not a designer. You’re an imbecile.
To whit. Let’s be insane and say that each design submitted takes one single hour. Which it won’t. It will take more than that. But let’s use that for the sake of argument. You’re working for people who think that your work is worth $3.11 an hour. Or, at a 40 hour week, that you should earn $124.68 a week.
Or, $5984 per annum (assuming a 48 week work year).
That’s who you’re working for: people who think you’re worth roughly 50% of what the average Australian pays in income tax.
Yes, yes, yes and more yes. So many young designers or “wannabe” designers are hurting the industry by submitting to these crowdsourcing sites. Not only is it demeaning to the design world it undermines the hard work that actually goes into a good design. Some businesses see sites like this and seeing people getting design work cheap then wonder why would they hire you for so much more money when they can get it done so cheaply.
I would like to point people to No Spec! a site designed specifically to educate and inform people why crowdsourcing or speculative work is bad for everyone. Don’t support sites like 99designs.
If there was any doubt I was a casanova…
