Todd McFarlane is one of those great comic book artist whom I’ve always respected. His work on Spider-Man is still some of the best I’ve seen. But his most iconic work is probably still Spawn. The left image is a Spawn poster circa 1992. The right is the cover of Spawn 196 circa 2009.

A friend had given me the Violator trilogy once. A Spawn spin-off. It was deliciously gory. And then one day I noticed it was gone. It was stolen. I believe it’s a collectors’ item now. I can only hope that whoever has it now takes good care of it.
