A new ad campaign features Super heroines doing breast examinations. The premise is this:

Nobody’s immune to breast cancer.

When we talk about breast cancer, there’s no women or superwomen. Everybody has to do the self-examination monthly. Fight with us against the enemy and, when in doubt, talk with your doctor.

Todd McFarlane is one of those great comic book artist whom I’ve always respected. His work on Spider-Man is still some of the best I’ve seen. But his most iconic work is probably still Spawn. The left image is a Spawn poster circa 1992. The right is the cover of Spawn 196 circa 2009.

Jim Lee… what can I say. I used to love his work. I have to hand it to him. He’s the only comic book artist who has stayed consistent in his style over all these years. The left image is from the WildC.A.T.S. promo circa 1992. The right is from Absolute Batman: Hush circa 2005.

Travis Charest is next on the list. He’s another one of those amazing artist that just keeps getting better with time. However he’s always been amazing in my book. The left is WildC.A.T.S. circa 1994. The right is an insert from The Ultimates circa 2008.

Next Up: Jim Lee

Joe Madureira on the flipside has improved over the years. The X-Men cover is circa 1994 the Thor vs Hulk is circa 2009. Joe is also another favorite artist of mine and is solely responsible for my “I want to draw comics” phase I went going through.

J. Scott Campbell used to be one of my favorite comic book artist. But as his career has progressed it seems like his drawings skills have decreased. The image on the left is the iconic Fairchild circa 1994. The image on the right is the ill-fated Danger Girls circa 2007.

I mean really… what happened?

As much as I like this image I’m still not sold on Wonder Woman’s new costume.

X-Men Heroes & Villans by Marko Djurdjevic

Marko Djurdjevic is one of my favorite artist. I’ve probably looked at his Marvel art book at least 50 times already.
